Something for the kids..

Isle of Wight Carnival

Here on the island you can enjoy a host of regular and special events throughout the year. Come to experience the magic of the carnival parades during the season. The streets are buzzing with music, colourful costumes and floats. It's magic, day or night. How about the magical mix of heritage and fun for the children offered by Blackgang Chine, featuring Nurseryland, Fantasyland, Dinosaurland just to mention a few. Opens between April to November. Explore the south island beaches, search for pre-historic fossils, visit the dinosaur museum and centre, or just drop in to the many island fossil shops. How about a visit to the Isle of Wight Pearl centre where you are shown how pearls are cultivated.

For bigger children we have the Robin Hill Adventure Park. Set in 88 acres, the park offers some thrills, challenges and intrigue for most visitors. Try the 400m Toboggan Run, or the Swinging Colossus, or the Neptune Ride. Then there is the Assault Course and the Squirrel Tower. What about The Time Machine. There is much, much more.

View of the Needles, Alum Bay, Isle of Wight.

How about a wonderful day out at The Needles, Alum Bay with stunning views and lots to see and do for the whole family. Enjoy the spectacular chair lift to the beach with the breathtaking sight of the Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. Maybe a boat trip, a meal, a drink, or witness some island traditional crafts demonstrated by craftsmen. The children will be thrilled by the rides or seeing sweets being made or making their own souvenir in the Sand Shop. Opens from April to November.
