Isle of Wight Ferry Information
Several ferry companies provide regular services to the Isle of Wight throughout the year.
Red Funnel operate between Southampton and Cowes with their Red Jet passenger service 25 minutes to West Cowes and their vehicle ferries to East Cowes (1 hour). There is a link between East & West Cowes via a chain ferry which is operated by a private concern. Passengers travel free and a small charge is made for cars.
Wightlink run a Fast Cat passenger service between Portsmouth and Ryde Pier (15 mins). Wightlink also provide vehicle ferries running between Portsmouth and Fishbourne (35 mins), operating a second car ferry route between Lymington and Yarmouth (35 mins)..

Our holiday bungalows at Gurnard Pines are approximately:
- 1.5 miles from Cowes (10 minutes via chain bridge,
or 20 minutes via Newport); - 7 miles from Fishbourne (20 minutes via Newport);
- 6 miles from Yarmouth (15 minutes).
Due to the heavy summer demands on vehicle ferries we advise all visitors to book early to avoid disappointment. The ferry companies require ticket holders to check in 30 minutes before departure. If your visit is on foot your ferry will be met by a regular public transport links.
Refreshments may be purchased on the car ferries: soft drinks; beverages; light snacks; main meals. There is also a shop selling confectionary, newspapers etc. Licensed bar facilities are also available.
